FY 2027 Byrne JAG Application Information
The application opens October 14, 2026, and closes November 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Applications received after this deadline will not be considered. The grant performance period is October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027.
Michigan State Police (MSP) Grants and Community Services Division (GCSD) will be hosting an informational webinar on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. This webinar will walk prospective applicants through the Byrne JAG application process, as well as provide details on grant eligibility, proposed program areas, reporting requirements, and how to apply. At the end of the presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions, and both the webinar and Q&A will be made available on the MSP Byrne JAG website. Link to register for the webinar. NEW: JAG applications will be accepted through the new Michigan Grants System (MGX).
The MSP GCSD staff will be available to assist users with registering and accessing MGX during the below virtual office hours. If assistance is required, please email MSP-CJGrants@michigan.gov during the virtual office hour times and a staff member will respond to help walk through the process. Outside of office hours, please email MSP-CJGrants@michigan.gov and a staff member will respond as they are available. We encourage applicants to register for MGX access prior to the application open date.
