Communities

EGLE assists, educates, and encourages Michigan communities to implement pollution prevention best practices in order provide for a clean, safe and healthy environment for future generations.

Local governments and communities can lead by example, to reduce, eliminate or prevent pollution at its source before it is created. Not only is it more cost effective to prevent pollution from being created at its source, rather then to pay for the control, treatment and disposal, but it results in fewer impacts to human health and the environment.
