Wastewater CEC Application

Additional information for course providers

Applications must be submitted before the course is held. Credit will not be given if the course is taken or held before the application date.

  • If a course is held after application but before official approval, the course may be advertised as "pending CEC approval."

Training considered to be "on-the-job training" is not eligible for credit and will not be approved by the Board.

  • This generally includes training being held by a utility that is specific only to the functions or set-up of that utility, and not widely applicable.
  • Courses may be held at a specific facility, but registration must be open to everyone.

Conferences and seminars that have changing agendas yearly must submit an agenda for review by Staff prior to each event.

If a course is funded and sponsored by a federal, state, or government agency and is free for attendees, please provide that information on the application.

  • Staff will determine if payment for the course is necessary in these cases.

Training programs specific to brands of products or equipment must explain how the training is broadly applicable and not proprietary in nature.

Courses approved in other states are not automatically approved in Michigan. The course provider must apply for CECs in Michigan, and the course must be evaluated by the Board.
