OpCert: EGLE's new operator certification database

EGLE is excited to launch Michigan's new operator certification database, OpCert. OpCert is an updated, user friendly system designed to improve access to certification information for wastewater and drinking water operators statewide. This modern platform streamlines application review, enhances data accuracy, and provides operators and facilities with faster, more reliable access to certification records.

Transition to the database

All EGLE operator certification programs are transitioning to the new OpCert database. Once established, the operator profile will serve as the official platform for viewing all operator certification information. This profile will be used for all program functions, including:

  • Maintain profiles
  • Apply for and renew certifications
  • Receive real-time applications updates
  • Track education and experience
  • View results
  • Track continuing educations credits (CECs)
  • View certificates
  • Make payments
  • Upload required documentation

Operators will now submit all materials through the online database.

What operators need to know

To support a seamless transition:

  • If you are certified or have applied for an exam, locate your wastewater operator profile ID before proceeding. This will be available on the Public Portal. Your accounts can only be connected if your First Name, Last Name, and Operator ID exactly match what is in our system.
    • Do not register until you have this ID.
    • If you have both a wastewater and drinking water ID, either one will connect you to your combined account.
  • All users must log in using MiLogin.
  • Use a personal email address (not a work email) when creating your account to ensure long‑term access throughout your career.
  • Access the new operator certification database through MiLogin
