  • What is MiLogin?

MiLogin is the centralized State of Michigan's identity management solution that allows users the ability to access many state services and systems online across multiple state agencies, using a single user ID and password. MiLogin is managed by the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB). More information about MiLogin is available on their website.

  • Why are Operators required to create a citizen/personal MiLogin account?

A MiLogin account helps keep your personal information secure and private. It also lets you use one account to access many different State of Michigan online services.

Operator licenses belong to the individual operator, even if an employer pays the license fee. Because the license is tied to the person—not the workplace—it’s important for each operator to use their own citizen/personal MiLogin account. This ensures the license stays connected to the correct operator throughout their career.

  • Will I have to create separate MiLogin accounts for different state agencies?

No. You only need one MiLogin account to access all online state services that use that same type of MiLogin account.

    MiLogin has three account types:

    • Worker – for State of Michigan employees
    • Citizen – personal accounts for individual residents
    • Business – for businesses, organizations, and their employees acting in a business role

Some people may need more than one type of MiLogin account. For example, you might use a Citizen account for your personal transactions with the state and a Business or Worker account for job‑related activities that you conduct on behalf of your employer.

  • How do I create a citizen's MiLogin account?

  • I'm a CEC provider. Can I set up a MiLogin account for my organization?

Yes, MiLogin provides the option to create an account for an individual resident (Citizen Account) or a Business account for businesses, organizations, and their employees acting in a business role.
