An environmental emergency is a sudden threat to public health or the well-being of the environment from the release or potential release of oil, radioactive materials, or hazardous substances or chemicals into the air, land, or water.
This hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
When should I call the PEAS hotline?
Call our 24-hour PEAS hotline at 800-292-4706 to report all environmental emergencies, spills, chemical releases, pollution, illegal dumping, and other similar situations.
Reported an emergency?
Many incidents reportable to EGLE also warrant reporting to the federal National Response Center (NRC), which serves the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard.
