Legal Resources for Police Officers
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Legal Resources and Education Section offers several resources for use by Michigan's law enforcement community. Follow the links below to find out more about each of the resources offered.
MSP Legal Updates are provided for information purposes only. Although the information provided in these updates is current as of the date of publication, statutes, case law, and opinions change frequently. Therefore, officers should always consult with the county prosecutor's office before applying any information found in the updates.
Police officers may direct law-related questions or comments to the Legal Resources and Education Section at MSPLegal@Michigan.gov. All emails must include the police officer's name, department, and contact phone number. The Legal Resource and Education Section will not answer anonymous emails.
