Accountability

Accountability

States establish, with input from eligible recipients, State determined performance levels. States are required to make meaningful progress toward improving the performance of all CTE students, including subgroups.

The Perkins V accountability system evaluates the extent to which a state’s CTE concentrators meet state-determined levels of performance across several secondary and postsecondary indicators of performance. These indicators include the following:

Secondary Indicators

  • Four-year Graduation Rate
  • Academic Proficiency in Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics and/or Science.
  • Post-Program Placement: CTE concentrators who, during the second quarter after program completion, remain enrolled in postsecondary education, are in advanced training, military service, or a National and Community Service. program, are Peace Corps volunteers, or are employed.
  • Concentrators in CTE programs that lead to non-traditional fields.
  • Recognized Postsecondary Credential Attainment.

Postsecondary Indicators

  • CTE concentrators who, during the second quarter after program completion, remain enrolled in postsecondary education, are in advanced training, military service, or a National and Community Service program, are Peace Corps volunteers, or are placed or retained in employment.
  • CTE concentrators who receive a recognized postsecondary credential during participation in or within 1 year of program completion.
  • Concentrators in CTE programs that lead to non-traditional fields
