Michigan Performance Assessment Cadre MiPAC
The Michigan Performance Assessment Cadre (MiPAC) assessments support teachers in authentically measuring what students know and are able to do within student-centered learning environments, such as competency-based education (CBE). Educators who create real-world, flexible student-centered learning environments, can align their instruction with MiPAC assessments to better support student learning and growth.
MiPAC's Tools
- An online library of model performance assessments in mathematics and ELA, aligned to MDE's Math Model Competencies and ELA Model Competencies
- Provide cutting-edge resources to help teachers, schools and districts learn about competency-based education models and the power of performance assessment in these learning environments
- Encourage the use of performance assessments to support a balanced assessment system

MiPAC is a professional learning opportunity offered by the Michigan Assessment consortium (MAC) in collaboration with the Office of Educational Supports (OES) and Office of Educational Assessment and Accountability (OEAA) of the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). MiPAC participants create and pilot assessments for use inclusion in the MiPAC performance assessment library.
MiPAC is part of a larger initiative to provide competencies and assessment structures and supports for Competency-Based Education.
