The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, through the Materials Management Division, manages the registration and permitting for hazardous waste and liquid industrial by-products (formerly liquid industrial waste) transportation in the State of Michigan.
The following Part 111 delegation letters were signed by the Director to redistribute existing delegated authorities as necessary.
Legislation
Please note: on December 17, 2015, Part 121, Liquid Industrial Waste, of the Michigan Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of 1994 as amended was amended by Act 224, establishing "Liquid Industrial By-Products." Other statutory changes were made under Acts 225, and 226 of 2015 to provide for conforming laws. For questions pertaining to the Part 121 statutory changes, consider reviewing the redline changes made to Part 121, attending the training, contacting the Environmental Assistance Center at 800-662-9278, or contacting your local District Office for help.
