Notice: The Detroit Department of Public Works has authorized a temporary truck route for the US Ecology Detroit North facility. The temporary route will allow US Ecology to route traffic along Sherwood onto Georgia to access their facility. This will continue until Georgia Street is repaired.
U.S. Ecology operates a hazardous waste storage and treatment facility located at 6520 Georgia Street in Detroit, Michigan. The facility was first established in 1974, before hazardous waste handling and disposal operations were regulated under state or federal law. The facility’s license specifies the hazardous waste activities that U.S. Ecology can perform at the facility. U.S. Ecology submitted an application to relicense and expand their hazardous waste operations at their Georgia Street facility. Read More.
