Michigan water supplies must sample for lead and copper using a risk-based tiering criteria. This requires maintaining a site sampling plan that meets the sampling requirements.

    This webinar will explain requirements for site selection and sampling plans for lead and copper monitoring. EGLE staff will guide drinking water operators through lead and copper site selection and the form used for sampling plans so that water supplies maintain compliance for lead and copper under the Safe Drinking Water Act.

  • Sampling: Compliance and Investigative (4/28/26, 1 hour)

    This webinar explains the requirements for site sampling and lead and copper compliance monitoring, as well as provide guidance for water supplies that want to collect lead and copper investigative samples. The webinar will also introduce a new guidance document on collecting lead and copper investigative samples, and the differences between investigative and compliance sampling.

    This webinar will explain requirements and deadlines for reporting lead and copper drinking water results after a scheduled monitoring round is complete. EGLE staff will guide drinking water operators through the lead and copper report forms for timely completeness, so that water supplies maintain compliance for lead and copper under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
