    Michigan water supplies may collect investigative samples to follow up on high lead or copper sample results. Investigative samples are a tool to locate potential sources of lead and copper in a home or building’s fixtures, plumbing, or service line. Water supplies may use this guidance document to conduct investigative sampling.
