Public hearing for proposal to replaced damaged concrete bridge, Houghton County
Roy Aho, 6644 Graveraet Crossing, Atlantic Mine, MI 49905, has applied to this office for a permit under authority of Part 31, Water Resources Protection; and Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA).
The applicant proposes to replace a damaged concrete bridge abutment on a private bridge that crosses over the Graveraet River and remove accumulated debris around the structure.
The purpose of this hearing is to secure the views of interested persons concerning the application for permit.
About Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams protection
Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994, PA 451, as amended (Part 301), requires a permit from the Water Resources Division of EGLE for certain construction activities on inland lakes and streams.
The Inland Lakes and Streams Program is responsible for the protection of the natural resources and the public trust waters of the inland lakes and streams of the state. The program oversees activities including dredging, filling, constructing or placement of a structure on bottomlands, constructing reconfiguring, or expanding a marina, interfering with the natural flow of water or connecting a ditch or canal to an inland lake or stream.
