The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV), is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, underground storage tanks, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions.
This system allows water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records.

The Director's Water Well Advisory Committee was established to serve the department in an advisory capacity, on current issues involving the water well industry, including topics such as the state water strategy, water well construction, statute and rule development, and implementation of water well construction regulations.
If you would like to attend an upcoming Director's Water Well Advisory Committee meeting, submit in writing the topic(s) that you would like addressed to the Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division's general mailbox at EGLE-EH@Michigan.gov. Topics must be submitted prior to the meeting, at which time you will receive meeting location information.
