The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s (EGLE) Water Well Viewer (WWV), is an interactive mapping system that displays water wells along with other information, such as wellhead protection areas, underground storage tanks, and sites of environmental contamination. Water well locations have been identified by address matching, the use of global positioning systems (GPS), and by legal descriptions.
This system allows water well drilling and pump installation contractors to submit water well records.
Anyone wishing to formally serve legal documents upon the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), or its officers or employees, may do so by the following methods.

Michigan has over 2,600 dams across all 83 counties owned by public and private entities. Most of these dams were constructed in the late 1800s to early 1900s to power mills or to generate hydropower. The vast majority have since been retired from their original function and now primarily serve for aesthetic or recreational purposes. As many of these dams persist beyond their original intended design life, it is important to monitor their conditions, perform on-going maintenance and repairs, and plan for long-term solutions.
EGLE’s Dam Safety Program is responsible for administering Michigan's dam safety statute which ensures that regulated dams are properly constructed, inspected, and maintained, and that dam owners are adequately prepared for potential emergencies. However, it is also up to the community to ensure it is prepared for a dam safety incident.
