Environmental Assistance Center

Looking for help on an environmental issue? Having difficulty finding the right program contact?

The Environmental Assistance Center (EAC) serves as a single point of entry into all EGLE environmental programs. Businesses, local units of government, and the general public have access to direct one-on-one assistance or referral to EGLE's network of technical staff.

We can help with topics related to air, land, waste, and water.

  • Lakes and streams permitting

Find out what you need to put up a seawall, apply pesticides in water, or look up an existing permit

  • Private well water testing

We offer services for drinking water analysis and other environmental media analysis through our state-run laboratory

  • Wetlands permits

Find out what you need to build in a wetland, manage a wetland, or look up an existing permit

  • Air Quality

Learn about what might be affecting your local air quality, and submit a report if it seems unusual

  • Provide excellent customer service by helping callers timely "navigate" through EGLE's various programs.

  • Provide new and expanding Michigan operations with resources to identify and understand EGLE requirements.

  • Provide beyond compliance tools and contacts.
