To ensure that all Michigan students graduate from K-12 education with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in postsecondary, and ultimately, in high skill, high wage, high demand careers, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) has joined the Council of Chief State School Officers’ (CCSSO) new Career Readiness Collaborative to implement key elements of The Marshall Plan for Talent, achieve MDE’s Top 10 in 10 Goals and Strategies, and continue the career readiness work which aligns with the recommendations of CCSSO’s Career Readiness Initiative Task Force outlined in the report, “Opportunities and Options: Making Career Preparation Work for Students.”

The Michigan Career Development Model (MI CDM) is designed to provide all students (K-12) in the Michigan Educational System with the necessary knowledge and skills for success in career of their choice and lifelong learning.
