A proven educational leader with over 26 years of progressively responsible experience spanning PreK-12 leadership, instructional improvement, and literacy development, Ms. Alie-Bazzi excels at aligning policy to practice, building teacher and leader capacity, and driving student achievement across large, diverse districts. Her expertise encompasses literacy coaching, curriculum design, professional learning, human capital management, staff accountability, labor, and student services. She is recognized for leading systemwide initiatives in equity, labor relations, and strategic planning while maintaining a deep commitment to instructional and operational excellence. Ms. Alie-Bazzi embraces a goal-driven, solution-based approach to achieving sustainable organizational change, measurable outcomes, and continuous improvement. A steadfast advocate for public education, Ms. Alie-Bazzi actively engages in State legislative advocacy to promote equitable funding for public school districts throughout Michigan.
Ms. Alie-Bazzi earned multiple degrees between 1994 and 2010, including a Bachelor of Communications in Public Relations, a Teaching Certificate (Language Arts Major and History Minor), an Administrator Certificate, a Master's of Information Library Science, and a Reading Specialist Master’s Degree.
As Chief Deputy Superintendent for the Michigan Department of Education, Ms. Alie-Bazzi is committed to elevating and expanding the existing standard of excellence statewide.
