EXPLORE Students and Educators featured in latest proudMIeducator video

LANSING – Future Proud Michigan Educator (FPME) EXPLORE programs provide opportunities for 6th-12th grade students to consider education professions as a potential career. In this latest #proudMIeducator video released today by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), FPME EXPLORE students and educators reinforce the impact of great educators and the importance of early career exploration.

“My experience in my future educators’ course was invaluable. I was able to learn through class discussions and lessons, but most importantly, through my clinical placement in another classroom. I was able to see the side of education through the teacher lens, and it grew my appreciation for not only teachers but education as a whole,” stated Liebbe Martinez, an FPME EXPLORE student.

“The #proudMIeducator campaign recognizes the hard work of passionate educators and the important inspiration that our teachers provide for the next generation of educators,” said State Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice. “Successful EXPLORE programs also provide inspiration for those in districts that want to develop ways to support the entry of interested students and support staff into the field of education.”

Since 2016, the #proudMIeducator series has featured educators and supporters of Michigan educators who share their passion for education. The full playlist can be found on the MDE YouTube page.
