Honoring Students Who Receive the MI-SoBL
-
When and how is the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy (MI-SoBL) awarded?
- The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) will provide a congratulatory letter, a certificate, and a foil seal for each awardee.
- Once the application has been submitted, the person who submitted the application(s) will need to log back into the MI-SoBL application portal in order to see if the applicants have been approved. Once approved, the congratulatory letter and the certificate for each awardee can be downloaded and printed.
- The MI-SoBL foil seal will be mailed out by MDE, upon approval, to the address associated with the MEIS account.
- Recognition of the MI-SoBL may also be placed on the diploma and transcript. An example of the official language to add to the transcript is, “Michigan Biliteracy Seal Awardee – Spanish/English”.
