Funding for 10 Cents a Meal is included in the Fiscal Year 2027 State School Aid budget. The language for FY 2027 lists only school sponsors as eligible. This means that sponsors such as childcare centers and homes, non-school before and after school providers, and community service agencies will not be able to participate.
Michigan Department of Education will share further updates on the program and the 2027 application as soon as possible.
