The Michigan School Index provides an overall index score ranging from 0-100 for every Michigan public school. The School Index accountability system includes components such as student growth, proficiency, graduation rates, English learner progress, attendance rates and more. School Index scores are used to identify schools in need of improvement for the purpose of directing supports that help increase student success. Schools in need of improvement may be identified for one of three support tiers defined by the federal requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).
