MDE Announces In-Person and Virtual 2022 Education Workforce Job Fairs
March 22, 2022
LANSING – The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is pleased to announce the fifth annual MDE Education Workforce Job Fair series.
“Among the many strategies to help school districts find and hire quality staff for their schools are job fairs to bring together teachers and school districts,” said State Superintendent Dr. Michael Rice. “I encourage those who are certified teachers or formerly certificated teachers and who are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children, as well as school districts, to participate in these valuable job fairs.”
The 2022 Education Workforce Job Fairs are free of charge and are open to employers of educators and educational support staff, as well as all individuals seeking work in the educational field. There are two in-person job fairs that will take place. For added flexibility, a virtual fair, in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, will take place using the Brazen platform.
The job fairs will take place on:
- May 11, 2022 (campus of Lansing Community College West)
- June 7, 2022 (virtual)
- August 11, 2022 (campus of Schoolcraft College)
Increasing the number of certified teachers in areas of shortage is one of the eight goals of the state’s Top 10 Strategic Education Plan.
