Approved Providers of Administrator Mentoring

As part of the Mentoring and Induction District Support Grant (Section 27h) per the fiscal year 2025-26 State School Aid Act, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is tasked with compiling a list of approved providers of mentoring activities for school administrators. This list only applies to mentoring administrators. There is no required list of providers for mentoring teachers.

Criteria

Approved Providers must meet the following criteria:

• Be an established state professional organization
  • For purposes of this grant, “established” means more than three years and a “State Professional Organization” is a group of multiple professionals who support members statewide who work in the same profession or industry. If the organization is national, it must have a Michigan-based chapter or direct relationship with Michigan districts. Independent consulting firms and staffing organizations do not meet requirements.
• Provide mentoring activities to administrators
• Align programming to Michigan’s Standards for the Mentoring and Induction of Teachers, School Counselors, and Administrators.

Approval Process

To be added to the list of MDE approved providers for administrator mentoring activities for Round 3 (2027) grant funding, organizations need to complete the administrator mentoring provider application. The approval process window for Round 3 of the grant will open November 6 and close December 4. Follow the Mentoring and Induction Grants webpage for updates.

Monitoring

Approvals granted through this process are valid solely for the current round of funding. For each subsequent round, all organizations will need to reapply to be considered for the next round's approved provider list.
