What is CTE Month? 

Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.

Michigan CTE Month Resources

New for CTE Month 2026: The Michigan Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education (MDE-OCTE), in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity Workforce Development (LEO-WD), is excited to host its first podcast competition for CTE and CTE Early Middle College (EMC) students in Michigan! The podcast competition is an opportunity to highlight student talent and to increase student engagement during CTE Month. The competition timeline is from January 15, 2026, to February 17, 2026. Did you know...

  • During the 2022-23 school year, 95.95% of students who were CTE concentrators graduated from high school. That’s compared to Michigan’s high school graduation rate of 81.01%. 
  • CTE and CTE EMC offers students hands-on training that can be applied to real-world, in-demand education, training and career pathways. Find CTE programs and EMC programs offered in your area!
