Public Comment on Michigan's 1% Cap Waiver Extension Request for 2023-2024 Public Comment is sought on Michigan’s draft request for a waiver extension to exceed the 1% cap on participation on MI-Access. This waiver extension request includes continued plans to continue reducing the number and percent of students who take MI-Access and is allowable under ESSA. Public comment opens Thursday, November 16 to Saturday, December 16 (11:59 p.m.)

2020-21

Notice for Request for Public Comment: Alternate Assessment Waiver Extension Request for the 1 Percent Cap Memorandum Public comment closed on Friday, December 18, 2020. Comment can also be submitted via email: MDE-OEAA@michigan.gov with the subject line: 1% Cap Waiver Extension Public Comment.
MI-Access Projected Participation Rate All Michigan Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and Intermediate School Districts (ISD) educational programs were to submit a projected participation rate in Catamaran by November 30, 2020. ISDs submitted their aggregate rates in Catamaran by December 11, 2020. Instructions on how to complete these activities can be found in Catamaran the policy resources section of the Catamaran Training Site under "Guidance Documents".

Notice for Request for Public Comment: Alternate Assessment Waiver Request for the 1 Percent Cap Memorandum Public comment closed on Monday, January 6, 2020.
LEA 1% Cap Justifications were completed as a task in Catamaran in January 2020. Local educational agencies (LEAs) that contribute to the state exceeding its participation cap must submit information justifying the need to exceed the 1% threshold using this form to their Intermediate School District (ISD).
