MI Green School Guide: project catalog
Outdoor green curtains
Build an angled trellis system to grow beautiful green curtains! Growing leafy plants up an angled trellis near a window helps insulate classrooms from heat and noise. Green curtains can also help direct roof runoff away from the building foundation.
All you will need is an angled trellis net suspended from the roof to the ground. Alternatively, a wood trellis can be angled against the building. Choose native climbing plants to reduce maintenance.
This project will require a team that includes facilities staff.
