Detroit Home Builders' MARC Success
January 27, 2026
Detroit Home Builders LLC, founded in 2019, is a Metro Detroit–based construction company specializing in residential rehabilitation and remodeling. The company also serves as the sponsor of a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Program for Construction Craft Laborers.
Detroit Home Builders recently celebrated the graduation of its first MARC I Construction Craft Laborer Pre-Apprenticeship cohort, delivered in partnership with Henry Ford College.
Participants completed an employer-created, industry-driven curriculum designed to prepare individuals for direct entry into Registered Apprenticeship and real-world construction work. Training included hands-on construction fundamentals, jobsite readiness, safety instruction, and OSHA 30 construction certification.
“Graduating our first five MARC I participants is a proud milestone for Detroit Home Builders,” said AnThony Legins, President of Detroit Home Builders. “These individuals showed up, put in the work, and proved they are ready for careers in the skilled trades.
This program would not be possible without strong partners like SEMCA Michigan Works!, whose support helped cover tuition, books, tools, and safety gear, and Carhartt, whose donation of work clothing and boots ensured our students were jobsite-ready.”
Following completion of MARC I, all graduates have advanced into MARC II, where they continue their progression toward Detroit Home Builders’ DOL-Registered Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Program. MARC II participants gain paid, supervised, on-the-job experience across active residential rehabilitation and remodeling projects throughout Metro Detroit.
Through its MARC-endorsed program, Detroit Home Builders is strengthening the regional construction talent pipeline by connecting residents to employer-validated training, industry-recognized credentials, and long-term career opportunities in the skilled trades.
