Executive Management Assistant to the Chief Operating Officer
Angie joined the MDARD staff in 2022 as the Executive Assistant to Chief Operating Officer Kenneth McFarlane and Assistant to the Commission of Agriculture and Rural Development. She performs executive support and serves as the human resource assistant to the Executive Office and Commission.
Prior to MDARD, she worked in various nonpartisan positions in the Michigan House of Representatives for 20 years, lastly as the Director of Committees. Where her love for Open Meeting Act and Parliamentary Procedure were crafted.
Angie grew up on a row crop farm in central Michigan. After 12 years of living in Lansing, her husband and two children, returned to Ithaca where they have started a small family farm specializing in cut flowers, pumpkins and beef cattle. Angie is active in her community as a 4H leader. She enjoys watching her family show cattle and traveling the state discovering agritourism.
