Who needs a license?
A Certified Fieldperson is an (industry) employee who is trained and certified to conduct official Grade "A" dairy farm inspections in the same manner a Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) inspector would inspect a dairy farm.
What fees are required? How long is the license good for? Is it pro-rated?
$150 good for 3 years from the certification date. It is not Pro-rated.
How do I apply for a license?
An individual must apply for a license by using the paper application or online application.
Are there any special requirements to obtain a license?
Yes. You need to work with a dairy inspector on 25 farms and agree within 80% on those farm inspections.

An individual who is interested in being a Grade "A" Certified Industry Fieldperson should contact the Lansing office at 800-292-3939.
