MDE to Help Schools and Job Seekers with Education Workforce Virtual Job Fairs
May 04, 2021
LANSING – The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is pleased to announce additional dates for its 2021 Education Workforce Virtual Job Fairs, presented in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO).
The 2021 virtual job fairs are open to employers of educators and educational support staff, as well as all individuals seeking to work in the education field. These events will leverage LEO’s expertise in hosting virtual job fairs to ensure a smooth and robust experience for both employers and job seekers. LEO utilizes the Brazen platform that features increased functionality and ease of use for participants.
“From administrative assistants to teachers, from principals to bus drivers, it takes a number of educational staff working together to serve our students and their diverse needs,” said State Superintendent Dr. Michael F. Rice. “Every student deserves to have qualified school staff who assist them in their learning experiences. Job fairs are one way we are able to assist schools and districts in placing qualified staff in areas of need.”
Increasing the numbers of certified teachers in areas of shortage is one of the goals of Michigan’s Top 10 Strategic Education Plan.
Additional dates in June and August have been added to the schedule. The education workforce virtual job fairs will take place on the following dates:
- June 16, 2021
- June 17, 2021
- August 4, 2021
- August 5, 2021
