The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Executive Director, Michigan State Land Bank Authority
Joseph Rivet was appointed Executive Director of the Michigan State Land Bank Authority in 2023. He previously served as Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. Prior to his appointments with the State of Michigan, he was an elected official for more than 25 years at the township, county and state level, including three terms in the Michigan House of Representatives.
Rivet has a Master of Business Administration in finance From Michigan State University and graduate degree in public administration from Central Michigan University. He lives in Bay City with his wife, and they have six children.
