The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

This program offers competitive grants to help small and mid-sized auto suppliers pivot toward future growth by retooling their facilities to enter hybrid and electric vehicle supply chains.

Michigan is building sector-focused partnerships that bring together large buyers, small- and medium-sized manufacturers and supportive economic development programming to solve real world supply chain challenges and open new markets for Michigan firms. Our initial partnership focuses on the energy sector, helping Michigan’s utilities and prime contractors identify suppliers to support grid modernization and expansion by leveraging DTE and Consumers Energy’s joint annual $3.5 billion commitment to spending for Michigan-based businesses.
