The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

Christopher Boll, of Detroit, is lead counsel for mergers, acquisitions and alliances at Ford Motor Company. Boll serves as vice chair of Michigan Humane's Humane Leaders Board of Directors, as a member of the Detroit Institute of Arts Founders Junior Council, and as board member of the Grand Circus Park Conservancy. Boll holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from Notre Dame Law School. Christopher Boll is appointed to represent business for a term commencing March 20, 2025, and expiring October 1, 2027.
