MiSTEM convenes a statewide network of leaders in education, business and local communities to empower the next generation of innovators.
The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

Ingham County Health Department AmeriCorps Program
The Ingham County Health Department (ICHD) AmeriCorps Program members serve throughout Ingham County to increase food security and reduce chronic disease in residents by focusing on two project goals:
1. Increase consumption of healthy foods and reduce food insecurity with gardening, food distribution and referrals.
2. Teach community members the importance of eating healthy foods and strategies to adopt better diets.
Many of the members spend their days facilitating cooking demos, organizing community gardens, maintaining community gardens, organizing and facilitating nutrition education classes, and managing food distributions to Lansing residents.
