YouthWork Conservation Corps
YouthWork Conservation Corps
The YouthWork AmeriCorps program develops young people and community spaces by completing environmental conservation and service projects for nonprofit and public agencies throughout Michigan. YouthWork is mutually beneficial - designed to meet local needs, save resources for project partners, and prepare youth for the workforce. All are welcome at YouthWork. As a mission-driven program, YouthWork intentionally recruits members who live with disabilities or delays, face barriers to employment, have experienced trauma such as abuse or neglect, are homeless or at risk of homelessness, or face other challenges at home or in their community. This year, 104 YouthWork AmeriCorps members will GET THINGS DONE for partners such as the the National Park Service, US Forest Service, local parks & recreation departments, land conservancies and conservation districts, and many more. YouthWork members get things done for our communities – from planting trees, building boardwalks, or removing invasive species, to wildlife conservation, preserving historic buildings, and developing trails.
