Corporate Community Leader - Trinseo
Trinseo is dedicated to producing lasting change by encouraging employee volunteerism at all of its 41 locations. Over the last five years, Trinseo’s 210 Michigan-based employees have led the effort globally and have put in 2,540 service hours benefitting 12 nonprofit organizations in Midland and Detroit. Each quarter, Trinseo’s Community Outreach Team focuses on offering volunteer opportunities for employees to participate in various projects. Their efforts have included serving lunch at a soup kitchen, providing maintenance for the community gardens, ensuring individuals with disabilities have access to the gardens, conducting fall yard clean-up for seniors, and leading quarterly drives to collect basic needs items such as books, non-perishable food items and winter coats. Trinseo and its employees have also provided direct assistance to Floyd Elementary School in Midland. This support involved reading to students and funding, plus building a 160-foot boardwalk through a wetland on the nature trail to expand access and enhance the science curriculum. In addition, they collectively have raised $60,000 to provide added service. Through both their financial giving and employee service, they have made a tremendous difference in Michigan.
