Senior Volunteer of the Year - Grace LaValley
Grace LaValley was first introduced to D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in 1998, alongside her Veteran husband, Wilbert. The couple began volunteering together once they took notice of the tremendous need at the center and knew they had a chance to make a true difference. After her husband tragically passed, her dedication became more powerful. At age 86, Grace’s service has been persistent, contributing to helping execute events and making it her priority to personally get to know every new member. She has completed nearly 5,000 volunteer hours at the home serving veterans and has received the President Service Award. Her passionate spirit is evident, as she has recruited countless others to volunteer at the D.J. Jacobetti Home over the years. She mentors them and teaches them the needs of members. She continues to go above and beyond the call to duty and is an inspiration to everyone with whom she comes in contact.
