Charley Janssen has been engaged as a volunteer, trustee, board chair and donor to the Capital Region Community Foundation for more than 20 years. As an advocate for permanent endowed funds, he has devoted countless hours to encouraging individuals and groups to give through activities like the Community Leadership Reception that have resulted in gifts exceeding $25 million. Through two strategic planning efforts, he has helped guide the foundation in taking a new leadership role in economic development. With years of commitment to collaboration, Charley’s leadership with many organizations has included the Lansing Public Schools Foundation, Lansing Riverfront Development Board and Ingham County’s Bar Association Probate and Trust Section. Because of Charley’s commitment to community philanthropy, the lives of many in the Lansing region have been and will continue to be significantly impacted.
