Corporate Community Leader - teamGM Cares
teamGM Cares, the employee volunteerism program at General Motors, plays an active role in uplifting communities and residents across the State of Michigan and around the globe, serving as an outstanding community partner. teamGM Cares has donated more than $12,000 of in-kind goods and services and logged more than 490 hours of service over the past year to Wayne Metro Community Action Agency. In the City of Highland Park, teamGM Cares worked to beautify Wayne Metro’s Cortland Community Impact Center and surrounding neighborhood, cleaned up parks, and made walkways to school safe for children and families. In Taylor and Inkster, the group repaired and improved food pantries and small grassroots organizations where the work would have otherwise gone undone. Each year, the group hosts “teamGM Cares Week,” which ensures that giving back remains a cornerstone of this organization. In 2017, 74 volunteers served 518 hours for a variety of community projects with Wayne Metro and over 18,000 GM employees volunteered 161,000 hours around the globe.
