Senior Volunteer of the Year - James Feliciano
Senior Volunteer of the Year Award: honors individuals age 65 and older who have taken action to make their community a better place to live through service.
JAMES FELICIANO of Marquette has dedicated his life to helping his fellow veterans in any way he can. A Navy veteran himself, James has spent over 9,000 hours volunteering at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette. While serving, he asks those around him what their needs are and he delivers. James has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the needs of the home and its veterans. He is a member of multiple veteran organizations, plans events and serves tirelessly to help those around him. In 2013, James helped start No Veteran Left Alone, a group of volunteers who are on call to provide comfort and companionship to veterans during the final hours of their lives. “No person in Marquette County has done more for our veterans over the years than Jim,” said D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans COO Steve Rolston. “The impact he has had on countless veterans throughout his volunteerism is immeasurable.”
