Volunteer of the Year - Connor Miller
Connor Miller spent his 2017 volunteering with a new nonprofit organization every single week of the year. Connor moved to Traverse City in 2011, joining the leadership team of FUSE, formerly known as Traverse City Young Professionals. He quickly began volunteering in the community and leading volunteer opportunities. But he wanted to do more, and that’s when he had the idea for his 2017 goal. Connor recognized how vital nonprofit organizations were to his community and wanted to serve with as many as he could. He served at an incredible 54 nonprofit organizations in Grand Traverse, Leelanau and Kalkaska counties and assisted with 64 community events. Just to name a few, Connor served with the National Cherry Festival, Downtown Traverse City Association and Rotary Charities of Traverse City. His efforts inspired others to service and have made a lasting impact on the community. “Connor has the heart of servant,” said Juliette Schultz, executive director of the Women’s Resource Center. “He is a warm, caring, charismatic person whose passion for putting others first drives him.”
