Mentor Pre-Match Training Toolkit

This toolkit provides a downloadable training presentation and a facilitator's guide that walks staff through the delivery of more than four hours of prematch training. for YouthBuild.Mentor Pre-Match Training ToolkitA common challenge for mentoring programs is providing adequate prematch training of volunteer mentors. These trainings can be difficult to schedule and deliver, especially when mentoring coordinators or other staff members have additional responsibilities in the program.  

"We encourage local sites to customize these slides, but they can be used as-is if necessary," notes NMC's Michael Garringer. These materials are tailored to the YouthBuild brand of mentoring, but could easily be adapted or customized by other mentoring programs looking for a starting point in developing training. A companion training toolkit for the students, or mentees, is also under development.
