Join the Coaches' Challenge

The Coaches' Challenge is an exciting mentor recruitment campaign. Each year football coaches in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota have issued a friendly challenge to see which state can recruit the most new mentors. The Coaches' Challenge can help your program engage local high school, college and university coaches in your mentor recruitment efforts.

What does it take to join the Coaches' Challenge? It's simple! The best defense is a good offense, we need your mentor recruitment numbers! If your program shares its mentor recruitment numbers with Mentor Michigan, you could score too! Stay tuned to learn about game-winning prizes your program could win.

Programs that sign up to participate in the Coaches' Challenge will be asked to submit their mentor recruitment numbers on a monthly basis from August-November. We will email you a survey each month to remind you to submit your mentor recruitment numbers. The survey is brief! You will be asked to report:

Total Number of New Recruits for Reporting Period: A new recruit is anyone who has signed up to be a mentor with your program and has expressed a long-term commitment. Individuals do not necessarily need to be matched during the reporting period they are counted in

Number of Male Recruits
Number of Female Recruits

August Reporting, due September 8

September Reporting, due October 8

October Reporting, due November 7

November Reporting, due December 8

Mentoring Cheerleader/Champion Materials

Mentor Michigan will be providing a variety of resources that mentoring programs and local mentoring cheerleaders and champions can use to support the Coaches' Challenge. The following tools and resources can help your program promote the Coaches' Challenge in your community.
