Since its establishment in 1987, Active Faith Community Services has stood as a steadfast ally in the fight against economic insecurity for low-income households in the South Lyon School District and beyond. Founded by 10 local churches sharing a vision of community empowerment, Active Faith has upheld an unwavering commitment to providing essential support and resources to those in need, operating on a non-discriminatory platform that serves without bias or prejudice.

Through a comprehensive range of essential services, including a no-cost free choice food pantry, clothing boutique, job support, auto repair, back-to-school supplies, rent/utility assistance, and holiday and birthday gifts for children, Active Faith addresses the multifaceted challenges of poverty with compassion and dedication. In 2023 alone, Active Faith distributed groceries each month to approximately 700 low-income individuals, demonstrating the organization's profound impact on the community it serves.  

The upcoming community center will unveil a range of expanded services through strategic partnerships, notably with Capernaum Health Care Clinic and Lyon Counseling Center. Featuring ample parking and a barrier-free building layout, including designated handicapped parking, accessibility is prioritized to ensure all visitors feel comfortable accessing the center. Moreover, the new building renovations underscore Active Faith’s commitment to environmental stewardship. The center will serve as a model for sustainability, featuring solar panels on the roof, hybrid heating systems, low-flow water fixtures, LED lighting, and the integration of environmentally sustainable construction materials and products wherever possible. A comprehensive recycling system will further minimize the ecological footprint, reflecting the dedication to responsible resource management.
