Bedford Township Veterans Committee
Bedford Township Veterans Committee
The Bedford Township Veterans Committee was established in 2017, by a local Veteran and community members committed to the well-being of Veterans and their family members. The Center serves over 1,625 Veterans and their families through its Veterans Service Officers program. The committee helps in assisting Veterans with benefits and disability claims, provides a food pantry to supplement food insecurity issues amongst the Veteran community, and has transportation services, which provide door-to-door transportation to the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. The Bedford Township Veteran Center reaches Veterans throughout Monroe County.
The Capital Grant awarded will be used to make necessary renovations to reduce energy consumption by adding insulation, installing a new roof, and energy efficient windows. A drop ceiling will be installed making the interior more comfortable and inviting for our Veterans and the community by reducing the noise level. In addition, a monument-style sign will be installed to meet local ordinances.
