MiSTEM convenes a statewide network of leaders in education, business and local communities to empower the next generation of innovators.
The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

Macomb Foster Closet
Since 2012, the Macomb Foster Closet has been providing clothing and other essential items to children in foster care for free. There has been a growing demand for the closet's services, which now helps out over 2,000 children a year. This grant will allow the organization to expand programs and services to better meet the needs of children who have experienced the child welfare system. With this grant, Macomb Foster Closet will become the first dedicated community center for foster, adoptive, and kinship families.
