Popps Packing
Popps Packing
Established in 2009, Popps Packing is an artist-run organization collaborating with Play House and Ceramics School to lead the Carpenter Creative Corridor (CCC) initiative, which addresses the lack of accessible arts, cultural initiatives, and affordable professional arts training in the Hamtramck/Detroit border neighborhood.
Located along Carpenter Avenue, the CCC comprises professional community art spaces tailored for accessibility and relevance, serving as a hub for artistic exploration and skill-sharing. Offering diverse programs like children’s creative arts day camp, ceramics, theater, film, and music classes, the CCC promotes careers in the creative sector and connects residents with resources, fostering community assets.
Impacting over 500 residents, the CCC empowers the community by fostering connections, promoting career advancement, and enhancing social equity through strategic partnerships and tailored programs, enriching the cultural fabric of the Hamtramck/Detroit border community.
