MiSTEM convenes a statewide network of leaders in education, business and local communities to empower the next generation of innovators.
The Rural Development Fund Board, housed in the Office of Rural Prosperity, has oversight of the Rural Development Fund. The Board is charged with advising the Office on how to distribute tax revenue collected from mines to improve and strengthen local communities. Director is a voting member and makes final decision on projects (Public Act 411 of 2012).

The Michigan Community Service Commission is accepting applications for the AmeriCorps VISTA Summer Associate program. Candidates serve for 8 - 10 weeks during the summer, starting in May, June or July. The AmeriCorps positions are full-time, serving with the Michigan Community Service Commission, the state’s lead agency on volunteerism, and its partners throughout the state. Depending upon the position, individuals may select fully remote, in person, or hybrid service.
Stipend: AmeriCorps members receive a stipend of $575 bi-weekly (federal taxes are withheld)
Education Award: Receive an education award of $1,311.11 OR $276 cash stipend
